The Crawl: T-Pain's Weirdest Collaboration Yet

tpainstrip.jpg<< Apparently, the only man in the world T-Pain hasn't worked with is Fred Durst — and the robot R&B crooner wants to change that. [MTV]

+ One of our favorite coke-rap wordsmiths, Clipse's Pusha T, records a song with no nonsense (?) songstress Joss Stone. [Re-Up Gang Records]

+ Britney Spears is forced to have dinner with her dad and isn't allowed go to the bathroom by herself. Finally, Brit gets to have a real childhood. [TMZ]

+ M. Night Shyamalan's next movie will be a sequel to Sarah Michelle Gellar's cooking-themed rom-com Simply Irresistible! Kidding, kidding. [Quicktime]

Watch: Flo Rida's Implied Elevator Sex!

WHO: Flo Rida [ft. Timbaland]
WHAT: "Elevator" [Director: Gil Green]
WHY: We still like the song, but the clip is musclebound moronity at its most literal. At least it inspired us to revisit that classic elevator scene from Mallrats ...

Watch: The Ultimate Wife Beating Anthem
WHO: Facecast
WHAT: "Wifebeater"
WHY: To be clear: Blender.com does not condone wife beating. But watching a grotesque POS pitifully pretend to stuff a woman's head in a toilet while bellowing "I am the wife beater!" as if he's coughing up the World's Biggest Hairball does have its "hey, did you see this dumb shit?!" charms. We fear Facecast might not be in on their own joke here, but that ultimately makes it funnier for the rest of us.

BONUS: Facecast "rock" a teen center with a song called "She Has a Dick."

Listen: That American Idol Exit Song

ferras.jpgWHO: Ferras
WHAT: "Hollywood's Not America"
WHYAmerican Idol is all about crowning the next pop superstar by-way-of a rigorous regimen of Bryan Adams covers. We know this. But it also offers a good launching pad for burgeoning songwriters who happen to have a song about bad days or the warped mental state of Hollywood in relation to the rest of the United States in their arsenal. In 2005, Daniel Powter hit the top of the charts in the U.S. (and Ireland and Italy ...) with his Idol exit theme and now Elton John-worshipping upstart Ferras is trying to do the same with "Hollywood's Not America." Since the song is a slick combination of "Candle in the Wind" and "Tiny Dancer," it's tough to deny. But, in many ways, this song seems too perfect — as if it was written with Idol specifically in mind. "Go home, remember: Hollywood's not America," goes the hook. Listening to the tune on TV, you half expect Ferras to drop a knowing Simon-ism or a "Ferras, out" outro at some point. Meanwhile, the line between pop music and pop marketing becomes even blurrier.
WHERE: Listen to the track here.

BONUS: Watch Ferras do his thing solo on The Today Show.

Watch: Moby Unleashes a Killer Chicken

WHO: Moby
WHAT: "Disco Lies"
WHY: We're not sure if this clip from noted vegan Moby — in which a man-sized chicken/pimp enacts revenge on a Colonel Sanders look-a-like for frying his family — makes us want to stop eating chicken or eat even more chicken in order to stop these mutated chicks from eventually rising up and offing the entire human race.

Ludo's Faith-Healing Playlist
The St. Louis indie rockers wrote in to Blender.com and gave us this playlist to heal the soul on those not-so-fresh days.

"Sometimes, the world seems drained of color and sucked of meaning. When those doldrums kick in, I require a melange of songs that are emotionally textured, vivid, pure, flat, and accessibly singular. Tori Amos, Ween, and Ani know how to bring the texture, but nothing takes you to the two-dimensional jungle of emotional justice like the Tarzan Boy/Fogelberg/Cetera locomotive. Don't hate."

The Crawl: The Guitar Hero Effect

gh3.jpg<< When it comes to genius music marketing, is Guitar Hero the next iPod ad? Aerosmith sure hope so. [The Daily Swarm

+ Nelly stares and smiles at a birthday cake in the shape of a woman's ass in tight jeans. Can you say "eating ass" on the internet? [TMZ]

+ That unnaturally voluptuous woman in Kanye's "Flashing Lights" video is selling her used panties online for $24.95 each. In a disclaimer on her site she claims, "Everything I offer here is all Rita, not some screwed-up marketing company selling shit only for their own profits." Manipulative marketing? Now that would be crass. [D Listed]

+ We really wish Jack White would just forget about his other band. [NME]
