The 16 Best Stuttering Songs of All Time

12. "Changes," David Bowie
He stutters over: "Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes."
Why we love it: It's one of Bowie's best, and thanks to frequent radio play, it's burned its way into the Stuttering Song Pantheon.
The experts say: Bowie only stammers over the word "changes," which is not typical. "It's not evoked by words; it's evoked by situations, like answering the phone," says Lavid. "It's not like, 'Oh God, here comes that word "changes" again, I'm going to stutter.' If any word is going to evoke a stutter, it's 'hello,' as in, 'Oh, Christ, it's the phone again.'"
