Former Jane’s Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro has done just about everything a B-Team rock god can do in one kick-ass life — from death-defying heroin addiction to reality TV. But when the party’s over and his adoring teenaged wife sits down to compose his eulogy, she’ll want to skip over this lame collaboration with two old Jane’s pals (drummer Stephen Perkins, bassist Chris Chaney) and a grunge-era MTV host (singer Steve Isaacs). Navarro blazes neo-Hendrix solos and the rhythm section exudes the ease and accuracy you get after spending half your life in thousand-dollar-a-day recording studios. But Isaacs’s indistinct, flannel-waving wail doesn’t add anything to these titanic anthems of soul and struggle, which don’t say much beyond: Dave Navarro, still breathing, still taking meetings.
