Someone In Control
(Warner Bros.)
Release Date: 09/13/2005 12:00

Between wailing “My addictions know no boundaries” and feeling “so disconnected,” overwrought Trapt frontman Chris Brown seems like a man on the verge of popping a rod. The Southern-Cali hard rocker should find solace in his band’s almost preternatural command of the loud/soft dynamics and computer-enhanced guitar crunch that make radio programmers salivate. It's a skill-set that yielded a smash in '03, the head-bobbing “Headstrong,” and Trapt don't tamper with it on their second major-label outing. So even if Brown isn't exaggerating when he claims, “I'm always questionaing my sanity,” at least he won't have any trouble paying for a good shrink.
