Butler is back, and Dio returns on vocals with his pal Vinny Appice behind the kit (previous drummer Cozy Powell had been injured by a horse that fell on him — quick, call Rob Reiner!). Fans hoping for something special from the Mob Rules lineup were sorely disappointed. This record cost $1 million to record, a thousand times the budget for the band’s first album.
