A long black coat and short black songs set the tone as producer Rick Rubin restores the redoubtable veteran. Pitch-black highlights include Cash’s own “Delia’s Gone” and Leonard Cohen’s “Bird on a Wire.” A demons-versus-angels slugfest. Brutal.
