Snoop Dogg says hes given up weed, but he hasnt forsaken the pimp-and-hustler fantasies hes lived for years. On his sixth solo album, Snoop is still a loquacious street raconteur, toasting the virtues of women (Hourglass), power (Ballin ) and, well, himself (The One & Only). While the production wizardry of Dr. Dre is absent, it almost doesnt matter: On Beautiful, Snoop wraps his cashmere voice around the skeletal jig of the Neptunes, while Jay-Z turns Lollipop into a cooing 70s sex rap. He may still ache for the herb (I Miss That Bitch), but not since his debut has the Doggfather been any higher.
