Boy, do we miss John Belushi. Especially in light of National Lampoon’s new Van Wilder, which doesn’t do Animal House’s valedictorian any favors. Van’s the Big Man on Campus, partying through his seventh undergraduate year. But his megarich dad wants to cut him off, and Tara Reid wants to expose him in the student paper. By the film’s painful ending, Van’s actually learning a few life lessons — which is almost as revolting as the part where some mean frat boys gobble pastries filled with doggie spunk.
