Heres Johnny!
The Best of the Johnny Cash Show(COLUMBIA/LEGACY)
With his homespun wisdom and creased, middle-age visage, Johnny Cash came across as a kindlybut very cooldad on his network music show, which ran from 1969 to 1971. This two-disc set features a whopping 65 performances from the program interspersed with present-day interviews with those who were there. (Affable hairstylist Penny Lane tells a priceless story about June Carter Cash forcing panty-less guest Linda Ronstadt to put on a pair of bloomers before singing a duet with her husband.) The DVD showcases Cashs exquisite taste: Along with hosting legends like Ray Charles and Carl Perkins, the Man in Black performs arresting duets with Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan.
