AC/DC’s unswerving devotion to primitive raunch made them one of metal’s most enduring bands. Beginning in 1973 on the tough Australian bar circuit, 18-year-old guitarist Angus Young dressed as a schoolboy to disarm drunken customers, and created an image he was stuck with for the next three decades. No frills, no fuss and no compromises, they’ve inspired two generations of hard-rock bands, from Def Leppard to Guns N’ Roses to Nickelback – none of whom was ever as pure. BLENDER APPROVED
