A quick follow-up to their debut, mining very similar territory—the title track, a biblical text adapted by folkie Pete Seeger, got the same jingle-jangle treatment as “Mr. Tambourine Man” (and hit No. 1), and they re-recorded “It Won’t Be Wrong” (from the band’s earlier faux Fab Four incarnation as the Beefeaters) and covered a few more Dylan tunes, plus, regrettably, “Oh! Susannah.” Once again, singer-tambourinist (and current indie-pop cult hero) Gene Clark, who would quit a few months later, contributes the best originals.
