After a series of go-nowhere singles under other names, John Fogerty seized the reins, using deep-blues mojo to invigorate psychedelic jamming. The hits are covers of rockabilly and R&B nuggets, but both Fogerty brothers contribute blood-rare originals, the rhythm section shows off grooves honed by a decade of playing dance parties and John hollers and twangs like 40 miles of bad road.
