Cobain tried to pull an entire subculture into his limelight, and this mostly acoustic gig, with original L.A. punk Pat Smear on guitar, focuses on loving, wrenching tributes to idols: folk-blues ghost Lead Belly, glam lord David Bowie and Arizona weirdos the Meat Puppets, who join in to play three of their own songs.
