Soul Sister
(Columbia)

Better title: Schmaltz Sister. Columbia almost totally missed the boat as soul exploded in the mid-’60s, and this thrown-together bunch of recordings exemplifies why. It’s got some wildly unfortunate leftovers from the vaults (including “Ol’ Man River” and two Al Jolson covers) and a few decent hits cut with Clyde Otis. Out of print.
