The Pious Bird of Good Omen

Drummer Mick Fleetwood, bassist John McVie and guitarist Peter Green had all played with British blues nabob John Mayall, so it wasn’t surprising that the Mac’s early recordings had a traditional flavor. But the band’s third album, unreleased in the U.S. until 1981, found the increasingly troubled Green combining his love for B.B. King with a deranged pop sensibility.

STANDOUT TRACKS: “I Believe My Time Ain’t Long,” “Albatross,” “Black Magic Woman”
