Jack White Gets Married

White Stipes' Jack White got married June 1 on a canoe on the Amazon river in Brazil. His wife is Karen Elson, a model who appeared in the rock group's new video, "Blue Orchid." A statement on the Detroit band's official Web site reads: "Karen Elson and Jack White were married yesterday on the confluence of three rivers—the Rio Negro, the Salimones, and the Amazon—in the Amazon basin in the city of Manaus, Brazil. They were married by a traditional Shaman priest on a canoe at the exact point where the three rivers meet. The bride and groom were accompanied by a small party of close friends. The best man was Ian Montone. Meg White was the maid of honor."

The marriage took place just a week before the release of the Stripes' new album, Get Behind Me Satan, which hits shelves June 7. The band recently announced a tour of North America, which kicks off on June 10 in Atlanta, Georgia.
