Lil' Kim Sued By Former Writers

Rapper Lil' Kim has been slapped with a lawsuit by two former collaborators seeking $100,000 each. Anthony Jefferies and Vincent Hart filed their suit in New York State Supreme Court, claiming that they are owed payments for work on her 2003 album, La Bella Mafia. The pair co-wrote three songs on that album and appeared on a fourth.

In the suit the pair claims they were promised payment of $15,000 each for their work but each only received $10,000 worth of jewelry in lieu of payment—which they were then forced to return to Lil' Kim seven months later. They are also suing for money owed from numerous concert appearances.

The 30-year-old artist—real name Kimberly Jones—has recently been in trouble with the courts, having been convicted of perjury and conspiracy on March 17 relating to her connection with a shooting outside New York hip-hop radio station Hot 97 in 2001. She will be sentenced on June 24 and could face up to a maximum of 20 years in prison.
