Backstreet Boys On Comeback Trail

The Backstreet Boys are back. After a five-year break, the quintet has announced plans to release a new album in June. It will be preceded by the release of a new single in March. Their last album, 2000's Black and Blue, sold over five million copies in the United States. The original lineup is intact with all members returning.

On the direction of the new album, band member Howie Dorough commented to Reuters news service, "It's a little more stripped down, a little more organic. There's not necessarily five-part harmony on everything you hear." Collaborations on the album include Boyz II Men and former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes.

A club tour to promote the new release is due to begin in late March with dates in Boston, Norfolk and Myrtle Beach so far confirmed.
