U2 Play Guerrilla Gigs in NYC

U2 played a surprise gig beneath the Brooklyn Bridge Monday on the eve of the release of their new album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

Rumors of the show spread online and were further fueled as the band performed on the back of a flatbed truck through the streets of Manhattan while filming a portion of their video for "All Because of You." A crowd of several thousand fans awaited the band's arrival at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park beneath the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.

The band performed a 45-minute set consisted mostly of material from their new album. The performance was taped for an MTV special scheduled to air on December 10.
