Lil Kim pleaded not guilty today to charges of perjury and obstruction of justice for her alleged involvement in a 2001 shooting outside of the Hot 97 radio station in New York. Also charged in the case were Kims manager, Damion Butler, and bodyguard, Suif Jackson.Prosecutors claim Butler and Jackson fired on rival rap group Capone-N-Noreaga, wounding one member of the groups entourage. According to authorities, Lil Kim (real name: Kimberly Jones) refused to identify the members of her entourage involved in the incident. Prosecutors also accused Jones of falsely testifying to a federal grand jury on three occasions by telling them that she was not present at the time of the shooting and that she did not know the suspects.
A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Friday. If convicted, Jones could face up to 30 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
