One of the biggest metal bands of the 1980s, the Crüe formed in Los Angeles in 1981. Drummer Tommy Lee, bassist Nikki Sixx, vocalist Vince Neil and guitarist Mick Mars signed to Elektra and released the platinum-selling Shout at the Devil in 1983. Known for their excessive partying, every member of the Crüe spent time in rehab, and Sixx nearly died from a drug overdose. Dr. Feelgood (1989) was their biggest commercial success.Reviews
