Formed in Boston in 1970, Aerosmiths original lineup consisted of vocalist and then-drummer Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton. By the end of 1970, Tyler was the full-time lead singer, with Joey Kramer on drums and Brad Whitford as a second guitarist. Dream On, off their 1973 self-titled debut, was their first hit. Their third album, Toys in the Attic, released two years later, included the smash hits Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way. In the late 80s and early 90s Aerosmith attained renewed popularity with hits like Janies Got a Gun, off of 1989s Pump, and Livin on the Edge and Cryin, off of 1993s Get a Grip.
