Television teen star Jennifer Love Hewitt established herself on shows like Disney’s Kids Incorporated and Fox’s Party of Five before releasing her first album, Let’s Go Bang, on Atlantic in 1995. She contributed two songs to the soundtrack for House Arrest, in which she had a starring role. Following her commercial acting successes, including lead roles in the teen flicks I Know What You Did Last Summer and Can’t Hardly Wait, she signed with Jive Records in 2002. A third solo album, Bare Naked, was released that year.
