Usher
R&B singer Usher Raymond was born on October 14, 1978, in Chattanooga, Tennessee and raised in Atlanta. Usher got his big break at age 14 when he auditioned for L.A. Reid of LaFace Records. In 1994 he dropped his last name and released his self-titled debut LP. The album was a hit and earned his 1997 follow-up, My Way, heavy MTV and VH-1 rotation. Usher’s first acting job was alongside fellow singer Brandy for a season of her TV series, Moesha. He debuted on the big screen in the 1998 high school horror film, The Faculty.
