The Hives
Thanks to the garage-rock revival in the early 2000s, Sweden’s garage music scene took off as well. The Hives were the biggest garage band to emerge from Sweden. Formed in 1993 the Hives -- Nicholaus Arson, Chris Dangerous, Dr. Matt Destruction, Vigilante Carlstroem, Howlin’ Pete Almqvist – released their first full-length album in 1997, but it wasn’t until 2000’s Veni, Vidi, Vicious, featuring the hit “Hate to Say I Told You So,” that the band found critical and (some) commercial success in the U.S.
