Nada Surf
Guitarist Matthew Caws and bassist Daniel Lorca formed post-grunge band Nada Surf in New York in the early '90s. Adding ex-Fuzztone Ira Elliot on drums and hiring Ric Ocasek as producer, the band released its debut album, High/Low, in 1996. The band scored a hit with the jock-mocking anthem "Popular" from that album. They followed up with The Proximity Effect in '98 and Let Go in 2002.
