Kenny G
The best-selling saxophonist in history, Kenny G has been credited with bringing contemporary instrumental jazz to the masses. Born Kenneth Gorelick in 1956 in Seattle, his first professional gig was with Barry Whites Love Unlimited Orchestra. He released his self-titled debut album on Arista in 1982, earning increasing airplay on adult contemporary radio stations. His conventional style, however, has failed to win him a following among jazz purists.
