The Man in Black was born on February 26, 1932, in Kingsland, Arkansas. A self-taught guitar player, singer and songwriter, Cash stormed the country charts in the mid-50s and crossed over into the pop charts with his 1956 hit, I Walk the Line. With the advent of rock & roll, Johnny Cash created his own stylistic blend. He continued to dominate country music for the next two decades. In 1985 and 1992 he teamed with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson in the Highwaymen and then released several more solo albums on Rick Rubins American Records.Reviews
