Indigo Girls
Folk rock duo Amy Ray (born on April 12, 1964, in Decatur, Georgia) and Emily Saliers (born on July 22, 1963, in New Haven, Connecticut) formed the Indigo Girls in Decatur, Georgia, in 1985. Their self-titled 1989 debut album won the Best Folk Recording Grammy and went platinum, pushed along by the hit single “Closer to Fine.”
