Alt-metal group Papa Roach Coby Dick (aka Jacoby Shaddix), Jerry Horton, Dave Buckner and Tobin Esperance released their first major-label album, Infest, in 2000 on DreamWorks. By that time, they had to compete with other, more established rap-metalers like Korn and Limp Bizkit, though the album went on to sell over 3 million copies on the strength of their hit single "Last Resort," a song about suicide. For their next album, 2002's Lovehatetragedy, Papa Roach excised rap from their metal and adopted more of the brute simplicity of punk.Reviews
