Paul McCartney
Born on June 18, 1942, in Liverpool, England, Paul McCartney created some of the most memorable songs in rock from 1960 to ’70 with the Beatles. His 1970 solo debut, McCartney, was at the top of the American charts for three weeks. He formed Wings in 1971 with his wife, Linda, which produced another series of hits and platinum records. He continued to work on various projects through the millennium, and McCartney was knighted in 1997. Linda McCartney succumbed to cancer on April 17, 1998.Reviews
