Peter Frampton
Peter Frampton (born on April 22, 1950 in Beckenham, England) joined his first band, the Herd, at age 16. The band had several hits on the U.K. charts, but Frampton left after a few years to start Humble Pie with former Small Faces frontman Steve Marriott. Frampton wrote and sang on four Humble Pie albums before leaving in 1971 to pursue his own career. Through releasing only moderately successful albums, Frampton built up a following through constant touring so that when he released the double live album Frampton Comes Alive! recorded in 1975 at San Francisco's Winterland, it became global smash and Frampton attained guitar-hero status. The went on to become the best-selling live album of all time and spawned several hit singles, including "Baby I Love Your Way" and "Show Me the Way." In 2003 Frampton released his 15th studio album, Now.
