Polly Jean Harvey formed the post-punk trio PJ Harvey, with Rob Ellis on drums and Stephen Vaughan on bass, in Yeovil, England, in 1991. The band began as a brash, bluesy punk affair that boasted PJ's feminist stances and lyrics about her sexuality. After splitting with her band in 1995, she released the critically acclaimed To Bring You My Love, which was her first to land on the charts. Since then the singer-songwriter has excelled in penning dark, tormented songs.Reviews
