After leaving the 1980s Britpop group the Housemartins in 1987, Norman Cook, a.k.a. Fatboy Slim, paired with acid-house producers Tim Jeffrey and JC Reid to create Pizzaman. After several Top 40 U.K. hits and time in similar groups, Cook went solo and released Better Living Through Chemistry in 1996. His second album, Youve Come a Long Way, Baby, which includes the hits "Rockafeller Skank" and "Praise You," went platinum in the U.S. Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars, released in 2000, cemented his reputation as a master of acid-house beats.Reviews
