Singer (and former Olympic swimmer) Till Lindermann, guitarist Richard Kruspe, guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider and keyboardist Flake Lorenz formed this metal band in Germany in 1993. Rammstein took their name from the location of a 1988 air-show accident that killed 80 people. Their debut, Herzeleid (German for heartache), was released in the U.S. in 1996. They became a huge European act, thanks in part to theatrical live shows in which Lindermann would set himself on fire.Reviews
