Randy Newman
Born on November 28, 1943, in New Orleans, singer-songwriter-pianist Randy Newman scored his biggest hit with 1977’s “Short People.” Though his critically praised albums were not huge sellers, the prolific, often satirical songwriter has done quite well composing film scores. Newman earned 16 Oscar nominations and won Best Song in 2002 for “If I Didn’t Have You,” from Monsters, Inc.
