Gangsta rap pioneer Andre Young was born on February 18, 1965. In 1986 Eazy-E recruited Young to write songs with Ice Cube for his label, Ruthless Records. Soon after, N.W.A. (Niggaz With Attitude) was formed and released the watershed album Straight Outta Compton in 1988. Dre founded Death Row Records and created the G-funk style with the release of 1992s The Chronic, his first work with Snoop Doggy Dogg. He became the most important and influential figure in West Coast hip-hop, producing Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Ice Cube, Warren G and Eminem, among many others.Reviews
