Stereolab
The romantically connected Tim Gane (guitar, keyboard) and Laetitia Sadier (vocals, keyboards) formed this indie rock band, known for ethereal layering of vocals, electronic instruments and beats, in 1991 in London, on the heels of the disbanding of Ganes former band, McCarthy. Stereolab soon added Mary Hansen (keyboards, vocals), Andy Ramsay (drums), Sean OHagan (guitar) and Duncan Brown (bass). Keyboardist Katherine Gifford joined in 1994 but was replaced by Morgane Lhote in 1995, just before recording their U.S. college-radio breakthrough album, 1996s
Emperor Tomato Ketchup.
