Born on January 17, 1955, in Fort Monroe, Virginia, and raised in Texas, Steve Earle is a roots-rock/country singer, songwriter and guitarist. Landing his rock-country hybrid just below the mainstream mid-80s radar, he developed a cult following from listeners of both genres. He acquired a wicked coke and heroin habit in the early 90s and was sentenced to rehab in 1994. After getting clean, Earle came back with Train a Comin in 1995 and I Feel Alright in 96, which garnered him greater success than ever before.Reviews
