Born on May 5, 1981, in Southampton, England, this singer got his start in British garage—a fusion of drum & bass, house and R&B. He scored a big hit singing “Re-rewind” with the Artful Dodger UK. At 19 years old, he broke British chart records with “Fill Me In,” being the youngest solo British male artist to ever score a No. 1 single. His 2001 (U.S.) debut album, Born to Do It, focused more on soul than dance.
