Thalia
By the time she was 15, Thalía was a household name in Latin America as a telenovela star. She became a national sex symbol after singing soap-opera title songs. Her self-titled debut album, released in 1990, cemented her place as one of Mexico's premier singers. In 2003 she attempted to cross over to the American charts with her English-language debut (also titled Thalía), which featured a duet with Fat Joe.
