Following the breakout success of Dirty South rappers Nelly and Ludacris, St. Louis native Chingy saw his debut single "Right Thurr," released by Ludacris's Disturbing tha Peace label, peak at No. 4 on the Billboard album chart. Chingy (born Howard Bailey Jr.) started hanging around recording studios as a boy and signed with Ludacris in his late teens. His 2003 debut album, Jackpot, was produced by the Track Starz and went triple platinum.
