Buddy Guy
Born on July 30, 1936, in Lettsworth, Louisiana, vocalist-guitarist-bandleader Buddy Guy became the blues king of Chicago. He began playing around Louisiana as a teenager and moved to Chicago in 1957. He developed his career in the Windy City and became an idol to the next generation of musicians. He opened his own Chicago blues club, Buddy Guy’s Legends, in 1989, and in 1991 he won a Grammy for Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues.
