Copenhagens Sune Rose Wagner (bass, vocals) and Sharin Foo (guitar, vocals) formed the Raveonettes in 2001, following Wagners unsuccessful attempt to start a band in the U.S. The duos post-punk debut EP, Whip It On, was recorded entirely in B-flat minor, with only three chords per song. For live shows, the Wagner and Foo are joined onstage by guitarist Manoj Ramdas and jazz drummer Jakon Hoyer. During a live show at New Yorks CBGBs, the Raveonettes caught the attention of producer Richard Gottehrer (Blondie, Marshall Crenshaw, the Go-Gos), who produced their major-label debut, Chain Gang of Love, in 2003.Reviews
