Brian McKnight
Born on June 5, 1969, in Buffalo, New York, singer-songwriter-arranger-producer-multi-instrumentalist Brian McKnight grew up singing in the church gospel choir that his grandfather conducted. He began writing and performing his own music, and by age 18 was a professional songwriter. Motivated by his older brother Claude’s success in a cappella singing group Take 6, Brian aggressively shopped his demos and landed a record deal, releasing his eponymous debut in 1991.
