Pioneers of Britpop, Blur were formed in London in 1989 under the name Seymour. Led by childhood friends Damon Albarn (vocals, keyboards) and Graham Coxon (guitar), and backed by bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree, Blur signed with Food Records, a subsidiary of EMI. Their third and most successful album, Parklife, released in 1994, entered the charts in England at No. 1 and went on to sell triple platinum.Reviews
