Toni Braxton
Born in Severn, Maryland, Braxton began singing gospel music in church with her four sisters. After releasing a single with her sisters in 1990 called "The Good Life," L.A. Reid and Babyface signed her to their label, LaFace Records, and produced her self-titled debut album in 1993. The album went to No. 1 on the pop chart, sold almost 10 million worldwide, earned three Grammys, three American Music Awards and two Soul Train Music Awards. Her follow-up album,
Secrets (1996), which included the smash hit "Un-Break My Heart," went eight-times platinum.
