Ben Lee
Australian indie-rocker Ben Lee got his start at age 13 with the band Noise Addict. Their early '90s single "I Wish I Was Him" is a satirical tribute to Evan Dando, and it earned them the respect of Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and the Beastie Boys' Mike D. Dando himself covered the song and remains of fan of Lee. In 1995, at age 16, Lee released his solo debut album,
Grandpaw Would. His fourth album,
Hey You, Yes You (2003), was produced by Dan "The Automator" Nakamura (of Gorillaz fame).
