Barry Manilow
Soft-rock pianist-singer-songwriter Barry Alan Pincus, a.k.a. Barry Manilow, was born on June 17, 1946, in Brooklyn. Manilow got his start as Bette Midlers pianist and arranger in the early 70s. After landing a record deal with Arista, he began scoring huge adult contemporary hits, such as Mandy, Even Now, Copacabana and I Write the Songs. Changing direction in the 90s, Manilow wrote two stage musicals.
