Backstreet Boys
Cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson, plus Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean took their name from an Orlando flea market when they formed in 1992. The R&B/doo-wop/teen-pop quintet initially succeeded in Canada and Europe, and their sophomore album,
Backstreets Back, produced by Svengali Louis Pearlman, sold more than 13 million copies worldwide. Their follow-up album,
Millennium, sold more 12 million copies in the U.S. alone in just more than a year.
